Pacifica has an abundance of walking trails and paths, many of which are quite accessible.

 

A variety of parks (city, county, Federal), beaches, and open spaces.

Proposed AFC Project: Beach Access Mat Trail

The Pacifica Age Friendly City Coalition is partnering with the Parks, Beach, and Recreation department on a project to bring more accessibility to the beach.

Please Note: The following list is not intended to be a comprehensive list of spaces in Pacifica that are accessible for all ages and abilities but rather as common examples of ones that contribute to Pacifica’s livability

Existing Outdoor Spaces
for All Ages and Abilities 

The multi-purpose trail along the beach from Pedro Point to Rockaway Beach.

The trail connects Linda Mar Beach (near Pedro Point) to Rockaway Beach.  This paved, accessible route offers a scenic multi-use path for walkers, runners, and cyclists.

Public Beaches at Linda Mar, Rockaway, Sharp Park, and Esplanade 

Pacifica’s coastline is one of the most beautiful places in the Bay Area to take it all in. Visitors will enjoy hiking,  biking, surfing, beachcombing, and relaxing amidst the misty, rugged shores, with picture perfect sunsets and spectacular views.

San Pedro Valley County Park

San Pedro Valley Park this park is nestled amongst the Santa Cruz Mountain range and the foothills of Pacifica. The park offers group picnic areas, picnic sites with barbecue pits, a self-guiding nature trail, hiking trails, a visitor center, and views of a seasonal water fall. The park contains seven trails offering a variety of habitats, lengths and levels of difficulty.

Mori Point, part of GGNRA

There is an accessible restroom located at the Old Mori Rd entrance. The Old Mori Road is an accessible trail. It links to a raised boardwalk which is accessible and provides benches. If you are looking for a more strenuous hike head up the Lishumsha which loops back down to Old Mori Rd.

Frontierland Park

A popular neighborhood park nestled against the hills, featuring the community-built Friendship Playground, expansive grassy fields, picnic areas with BBQs, and a fitness court. It is highly regarded for being family-friendly, offering a mix of sun and shade, and providing a scenic, active space.

Pacifica Pier

Located at Sharp Park Beach, it is a premier spot for targeting Salmon, Striped Bass, and Dungeness Crab. The pier features a café, restrooms, and excellent, close-up whale-watching opportunities. Known for being one of the only places in the Bay Area with free, no-license fishing, making it very popular.

Existing Community Building Spaces for All Ages and Abilities

Pedro Point Firehouse

The Pedro Point Firehouse hosts weddings, parties, and monthly potlucks, serving as a social hub for the neighborhood. The facility includes a stage, kitchen, and a nearby playground.

Pacifica Center for the Arts

The Pacifica Center for the Arts is a vibrant, multi-use hub for visual and performing arts. It serves the community through the Sanchez Art Center (galleries/studios), Art Guild of Pacifica, Pacifica Performances, and other resident artists, featuring free art exhibits, classes, and live music

Pacifica Coastside Museum
Little Brown Church

The Pacifica Coastside Museum, operated by the Pacifica Historical Society, is housed in the historic 1910 "Little Brown Church". It preserves local history through exhibits on the Ohlone people, the Ocean Shore Railroad, WWII, and surfing.

Pacifica Community Center

The Pacifica Community Center is a valuable community resource for senior service information, events, activities, classes, lunch program and community meeting/event space.

Sharp Park & Sanchez Libraries

Pacifica libraries consist of two branches—Pacifica Sharp Park and Pacifica Sanchez—part of the San Mateo County Libraries system, offering extensive community resources, digital access, and events such as Tai Chi, Mahjong, and Drop-in Tech Help. Key features include free Wi-Fi, and accessible offerings like audio books, large print editions, world language collections, and equipment rental.

Moose Lodge

The Moose Lodge is a member-driven fraternal organization focused on community service and camaraderie.  It features a full bar, kitchen, and weekly events like Thursday steak nights and Friday dinner specials.

Pacifica City Hall

The Pacifica City Hall serves as the hub for the municipality. Located on Beach Boulevard, it manages city services, public works, and local departments.
