What is Village of the Coastside?

Village of the Coastside is a nonprofit membership organization that works to sustain and enhance the wellbeing of older adults who wish to remain in their own homes and to be engaged in their community as they age.

The Village of the Coastside was founded to promote a vibrant community and a healthy quality of life with neighbors helping neighbors. And to provide social connections, access to services, learning opportunities and activities that enhance wellness while living in a community we love.

Why is Village of the Coastside Needed?

As we grow older, we all navigate life transitions. These changes can be difficult, especially if we face them alone. We are more likely to stay in charge of our lives as we age when we are part of a supportive community. Villages offer the opportunity to share challenges, wisdom and resources so that we can age on our own terms.

Who can be part of the Village of the Coastside?

Village of the Coastside serves adult members in Half Moon Bay, El Granada, Moss Beach, Montara, Pacifica, Skyline, & Pescadero. Adults must apply for membership and pay membership fees.

What does the Village of the Coastside do?

  • Social: Organizes events such as happy hours, coffee meet-ups, and holiday parties.

  • Interest Groups: Facilitates groups for hiking, book discussions, dining, and more.

  • Support Services: Offers transportation and assistance with home tasks.

  • Volunteer Opportunities: Provides opportunities for members to support each other and stay engaged.

  • Educational/Cultural Programs: Arranges trips to museums, theaters, and symphonies.

Please Note: The following list is not intended to be a comprehensive list of organizations in Pacifica that offer social participation opportunities but rather as common examples of ones that contribute to Pacifica’s livability.
